Where's Delhi?
Writing from the pc in the office of Bajaj Homestay, Karol Bagh. Nice place. Plenty of marble.
Friendly staff and pleasant terraces. The weather is quite nice though we have yet to see anything. We arrived about 8:30 last night. No problems at the airport as we were met by the people from Bajaj. One tip we forgot to do was get small bills at the money exchange. It seems most things, tips and the sort can be paid with 20-40 rupees. So try and get smaller bills when exchanging money. We managed to get only 100's. The GPRS signal on the Blackberry came in fine. AirTel has a terrric network. No problems with email and web access on the handheld. We went for a small walk this morning around the Bajaj but there wasn't much going on. Quite frankly we are wondering...where is Delhi? Of course we know but from where we are you'd wonder what all the fuss is about. We'll go out for a bit of a walk more and then transfer to the Metro Heights hotel later this afternoon. I would suggest the Ganesha room at the Bajaj as the other rooms open right into the breakfast area. The Ganesha has a lovely terrace. Last night at around 10:30 we were served our first meal in India, outside, under pleasant Delhi sky. Looking forward the rest of the day.. |
