Hi. I am planning a shopping trip to Delhi and searching for hotels on the net. Can someone please tell me where Kaushambi is in terms of proximity to shopping areas and also the city centre?

Till somebody from Delhi gives you better information
Kaushambhi is in Noida, technically UP. I don't know exactly where it is within Noida, but -Noida has some shopping of its own -Delhi Connaught Place is half an hour or a little more away, by car, from many parts of Noida. -Normal Delhi taxis and autorickshaws don't go to Noida, to the best of my knowledge. |

I found a hotel thats in Kaushambi. I will be shopping in Delhi at places like Karol Bagh, Connaught Place, Khan Market, etc so will it be ok if I stay in Kaushambi??
Hows the traffic to and from hotel and how long will I have to travel in general? Is there food places there as well? Really appreciate any comments.... |

hey, Kaushambi is right at the Delhi Ghaziabad border. there are some very good shopping malls nearby including the east Delhi Mall (better known as EDM) and Pacific Mall. these are 2 of the best shopping malls around that areas ....... some furthur on is the Ansal Plaza which has a lot of factor outles and thus giver HEAVY DISCOUNTS on ALL the brands avaialble ....... and there are quite a few berands available there ......... between these three malls you can wraps up the shopping for almost EVERYTHING .....
as far as the travel is concerned ..... places you have mentioned wlii be the following times away: Karol Bagh (1.5 hour), Connaught Place(1 hour), Khan Market (40 mins) ....... the best way to travel would be through NH-24 (or better knows as the Nizammudin Bridge) ..... But if you take the Preet Vihar Route, you would encounter tremondous tarffic jams at several placwes thus concederablly increasing your tarvel time .... for Food - do not worry friend .... delhi is the foodies paradise ....... you would get amazinf food at several places in khan Market - places like big chill, chonas, market cafe, etc .... these close to Kaushambi, all the malls that i mentioned have good Food courts. so good food there as well .... please tell me if you need specific information on any thing in perticular .... happy shopping ... |

You have not mentioned what kind of shopping you want to do. If you let us know that we can perhaps suggest you the right places.
Kaushambi is situated right opposite to Anand Vihar Interstate Bus Terminal(ISBT) and falls in UP. There are a few super malls near by. At both Pacific & EDM malls there are food courts on the top floor and you can get all varieties of food & ice creams. You wrote about visiting places like Karol Bagh, Connaught Place, Khan Market etc. For that Kaushambi is not the right choice. You should choose a central location like CP or Sundernagar. From CP you can take the metro to Karol Bagh. |

as Dada as already said, If you are a tourist and want to see Delhi and shop in Delhi markets and not western style malls, then Kaushambhi is not the place to be...its almost Ghaziabad, and commuting from there in public transport would be a very major problem !!

I have decided against taking the hotel in Kaushabi - thanks to all your advice.
If anyone is looking for hotel in East Delhi, there's Lemon Tree Hotel which has just opened a branch in East Delhi. |
