But prosetution is fully leagal if customer visits the home of woman preferably in family atmosphere.

This is weird rule, what does it mean by family atmosphere. If marketing is not allowed, how will customers know that the woman is available ?

Oh ! It's not Amsterdam's Red Light area, which has become a tourist spot in it's own right. News papers are full of horror stories of women who work there..... in Delhi much of action has moved to posh areas in so called massage parlours......

The area which must have been a place to be seen during Mughal times, has become a place, which Delhites, don't even want to talk about. City pretends as if it's not there.

Actually, I think the Indian law is based on British law; no doubt it will surprise a lot of people to learn that prostitution is actually legal in the UK.

What is illegal is running a brothel (which means more than one person available for sex), causing or inciting prostitution for personal gain, soliciting sex on the street, and living off immoral earnings.

So in the UK, a woman (or man) who makes a decision themselves to have sex with someone in return for money is not in itself illegal.

exactly our police follows same rule book.explicit here is, a woman can oprate from her residence, providing service herself.
neither can she employ other girls/women nor she can solicit her self or through agents on road.but inside covers (home) between consenting two ( of proper age)is purely legal.home here means home of female patner,if she goes to home of male it becomes illegal activity.

Delhiwala well said. The city feigns ignorance over the existence of GB road.

Also I am infact surprised by the number of advertisements in the newspaper regarding, massage parlours, escort services etc.

I guess they are illegal as well.

Haylo, I've walked around the Soho area of London and there every thing seems pretty much "authorised". Although I have heard a few horror stories there as well (of customers being charged extra and robbed) but the police does not bother if men visit the female models upstairs !

This was the Delhi blog on GB road which I was talking about earlier Delhi blog

shift to so called parlours, answers my question well delhiwala.
News paper are full with suggestive ads from beauty parlour to escort services. On one hand these newspaper and electronic media try to create sensation by so called sting operation of such places and on other thses humbugs are full of detailed ads of these place.both ways they are publcising only one thing that is prositution.
We may have stories of policeman visiting as decoy customer to these places and subsequent raid. But advertisments come in papers without interruption.suggesting only that police raid only such places which are not in nexus with them.
