So, after my Rajasthan tour, I'll be a day in Delhi..
The tour has inlcuded Old Delhi (Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid, Red Fort) and New Delhi (Humaytun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, Rapjath, India Gate, President’s Residence and Diplomatic Enclave) However the first day of my trip (I arrive 1am) before going to Rajastan, they will gave me a short tour by afternoon (after taking a rest from my London flight). They'll show me Hanuman TEMPLE, THE LOTUS TEMPLE and the Indian Museum. Do you suggest other places? Is this the best selection? |

I reckon that's a pretty good selection, but when I went in the summer the Red Fort was a bloody mess.
Sarfadang's Tomb is also nice. I also liked some slightly more obscure places, like the Dargah of Qutab Sahib. This is an Islamic shrine and contains the graves of the late Moghul emperors. Purana Qila - the old fort - is also impressive. And at Feroz Shah Kotla you can see the remains of one of Delhi's old cities - Ferozabad - and an Ashokan pillar.

The Rail Museum and Delhi Haat are two places worth visiting.
However, you'll need a lot of time to see both thoroughly. The famous market of Old Delhi; Chandni Chowk; is worth visiting too, even if you do not intend to shop.

I will be in New Dehli in April. I plan on going to Rikhi Ram's shop but I wanted to know where else I can check out sitars. Also any shops that carry Indian classical music CDs. Is there any other reputable sitar makers/sellers in the city?
Thanks |

I would also highly recommend going to Gandhi Smirti. It's where Gandhi was assassinated -- they even have his last footsteps, which is really cool.
I'm a little embarassed to admit it, but I also really enjoyed the McDonald's in Delhi. |
