Weekend Getaway near Delhi !!
Just wondering if anyone can suggest a place near Delhi where someone can go maybe driving on Sat morning and back by sunday night. Just to relax. No trekking.. nothing.. Just out of the mad crowd.. i guess it has to be within 200 kms to meet these requirements.. else will have to leave friday night .. I am planning for this weekend with a friend..
Suggestion and Participations are welcome )By the way how is Bharatpur and Sariska ?? Any idea ? Secondly, is there a chance of seeing snow somewhere close ? Then i will fancy my chances this weekend.. cheers Ari

Neemrana : 115kms from delhi. the prob for some is the high entry charge, 250 per person, and then lunch, 300 (or 350) per person. but the whole experience of being there is awesome.
You may also try Kasauli, in HP. Yep Bharatpur and Sariska are nice options too |

Neemrana is a lil out of Q right now since the overall thing is getting too costly.
We have decided on Bharatpur. Would start from Delhi Sat morning, reach afternoon and start from there Sunday Post lunch.. Any idea about nice accomodation ? maybe inside the sanctuary if any is there ? Secondly are ther good buses to Bharatpur ? we have a car right now but still to be on the safer side want to know.. |

the Bharatpur forrest lodge is inside the park. It's pretty nice . . or was 15 years ago!
Try to get there for lunch, then a short siesta and then there are two things to do inside the park- bicycle rik or boat. Neither is strenuous in the least, and both can be spectacular. Recommend the boat in the morning, early, alas! again, a very special trip u wont forget, even if you're not a birder. u will definitely come back relaxed

Oh Noo...
I just read at many posts that Bharatpur has no birds right now.. The lake has dried up and there is nothing to see ((( I guess its back to square one.. thinking again between Sariska/Agra/Chandagarh... i hate this.. I am wondering if i can take a chance and indeed head for Bharatpur... :-??? |

Neemrana not much to see... Funny I was thinking about the same on way back from office... Chandigarh itself is a planned city, need time to have a feeling a city, a weekend is not a great idea... Agra might be good if you can stay overnight and appreciate the Taj for sunset and sunrise...
