Question Wedding shopping in Delhi

Does anyone have suggestions for shops in Delhi that sells wedding invitations and western style wedding dresses as well as indian style?

My wedding last April was somewhat Indian flavoured and I ordered my wedding invitations online, from a business based in Jaipur. I was delighted with them. Handmade, incredibly beautiful, printing in gold lettering. Even with printing and international shipping, my invitations cost well under what I would expect to pay for similar in Australia.

Google indian wedding card and you'll find them.

Can't really help with the dresses though! Good luck! :]

Hi Boundless Traveller! Karol Bagh has shops with wedding gear, not sure about western style though. Some shops are very 'modern' in their trends so it is possible you could find things there - failing that they also have beautiful materials by the metre and I'm sure have connections to good tailors to make a design of choice.

Old delhi, specifically Chawri Bazaar is the hear of the wedding card industry. cards start as low as 3-4 bucks and can go upto 100's. Keep a good portion of the day if you plan on visit. While there stop by at the world famous karims for lunch.

Card makers here are very lax with deadlines so plan accordingly.

Cheers

In the area in od delhi for the cards, where there are many many stalls all selling different types of cards as mentioned above you will definately find what you're looking for. If you want something very particular some of them will make it for you, a specific colour, or style etc.....

Ive just bought a big bunch to use as xmas cards, and it cost only 15rps per card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
really!! The cards are A3 size, thick card with hand cut layers in diff colours, an "inner" paper in another colour and a stuck on motif, all in a lovely envelope which has a whole to see the motif...... (dont know if that makes sense, but theyre great and very very cheap!!!)
For the dress, check out my post about ball gowns/prom dresses in Delhi. There are few places advised there.
Otherwise, definately go to Santushti Shopping arcade in Chanakyaprui if you're ready to pay designer prces for the perfect outfit.
