US Embassy Warning about Independence Day?

Just received a travel alert from the US Embassy (registered before my India trip!) cautioning travelers about possible terrorist attacks in transport hubs in Delhi and Mumbai preceding India's Independence Day Aug 15. This is the first travel alert I have received in many weeks of travel so it sounds rather serious.

Any one else have further information on this? We're in the South and had originally planned be traveling north to Delhi during the Aug 11-15 warning time to start our sightseeing in the North but it sounds somewhat risky given this alert... though with all of the British --> US flight issues right now it seems less likely?

Unsure of whether to go to Delhi...

By not going one only helps them in thinking they have won to scare the wits out of the locals and travellers. Just go and enjoy the places you wish to visit and be alert and keep your wits about you as you would in any other place. I am sure you will have a nice time out here in India wherever you go. Take care and safe journeys on all your travels.

Possible terrorist attacks in Mumbai? They're a bit late on that one!
