Tuxedo Formal Suits to Rent in Delhi.

Hey Guys,

Per my itinerary, i'll be attending a few weddings in Oct.2008. I was just wondering if any one can recommend me a decent place in New Delhi (around GK, South Ext., Lajpat nagar area) to rent out Black Formal Suits (shoes included) for a few days.

Also if possilbe please include the amount i am expected to pay.

Thanks in advance.

r'.

Why?

If Jyotida says the chances are slim or non existent, I suggest you take him seriously and focus your energies more towards having a tux tailored when you arrive. This is likely to cost you less than hiring one a couple of times in Canada.

As for renting shoes... Put it this way, would you rent a jock strap in Canada?

If anyone knows better, feel free to correct me, but in my view shoe rental in India is not something that is going to be happening any time soon!

And, if you are going to Indian weddings, why not look for Indian formal wear, which may actually be available ....

I think some westerners think they would look "odd" in a sherwani suit, whereas of course the truth is that a tux would stick out a mile at an Indian wedding.

Personally I think they look fabulous and as an aside I bet Dukkha for instance would look *cough* "not too bad" in a sherwani!

I was in saree shops in Berkeley (California) last month, and spent some time looking at sherwanis; they are very elegant and I think even Western men might look very good in them. (Hope Dukkha is reading over your shoulder.)

You are an Indian and you thought a Tux was a good idea for a wedding?

Or is it a wedding of a western couple? Any way .... a sherwani or kurta is fine in any kind of wedding in India (as you must be knowing as an Indian)

BTW... in this forum we try to avoid personal attacks... so go easy on haylo

Its high time you start asking sensible questions before opening your mouth.
The more information you provide in your posts, the fewer questions people will need to ask, and the fewer mistakes they will make about your intentions and situation.

Perhaps others will have more information on the tux-hiring issue, otherwise you can let us know your exact situation and more help will be forthcoming on alternative solutions I'm sure.

Or you can buy a Good looking Silk kurta and cotton pyjamas with Ethnic shoes (Nagri/Kolhapuri maybe).. Even that would do.

Cheers!
