* Auto/Cab would be the best option to travel.
* half an hour.
* Auto around Rs.60 & Cab Rs.10/15/20 per KMs. (it would be around 10 kms from the New delhi station.
* Yes
Regards

silly question perhaps, what is Auto / Cab, I understand Cab what does Auto refer to?
I need to get from Hazrat to centre Dehli (perhaps Connaught Place, not sure which markets are the best to visit yet having one day to do it all in) and from there back to the airport later the afternoon to catch flight.
I understood the Metro is linked all the way and the best method to use between Hazrat & New Dehli main....
Thanks

An auto would mean an (auto)rickshaw.
Kedar Janani Devasthan, Mt Abu - Udaipur, Bharatpur, Agra, Gwalior, Orchha, Jhansi,
Satara

Of course I speak to myself. I need expert advice sometimes.

That's an unrealistically low quote. I would say the charge is at least three times the amount, esp for a foreigner, or even a visiting Indian.

Best way is to catch a "Local Train" at ND Railway Station to Nizamuddin. These are trains running (approx 20 mins once in day time) between towns in Delhi suburb. They are commonly called as EMUs. Keep a watch on announcements made which clearly tell about movement of these EMUs through different platforms of the station. Unfortunately there is no fixed platform for an EMU.

Cost from New Delhi Rail Station to Hazarat Nizamuddin is a whopping Rs.2 (Two). Buy a ticket at unreserved counter.

I took a local train once or twice between the two stations, but for someone who is not very familiar with the place it might be too difficult to cope, as per finding the right platform as well as knowing when to get off. If the person carries luggage it is even worse. Otherwise it is a good experience.

Probably signed to that effect, if you keep your eyes open.

Anyway traveling around this general area, it's handy to grab your rides here. You'll get a fair deal. (They do autorickshaws and taxis, I think, or am quite sure.) Note while I believe they're technically open 24/7, somewhere after nightfall these guys may leave you to your own devices however, so you'll still have to fight it out with those wallahs. But by day, it's very practical, and hassle-free.

Hi all

Am I correct to say that I could get an auto from Connaught Place to Hazrat station or would it be better to get to New Dehli Station (and that is not close to Connaught Place, etc) and then to Hazrat ?
Connaught place market are there any other markets close by, or other places worth seeing (in the area) I only have a couple of hours in Dehli from the airport and not sure what could be from distance point of view be fitted nest into this time.

Thank you

You can get an autorickshaw from anywhere to anywhere (where they're allowed), so long as you pay for it. On that note, NDLS is north of CP, whereas Nizamuddin is south. The detour would make no sense.

Can't advise you on rates, sorry.

Thank you for the replies

Oh dear now I am confused I understood it to be better, whether its safer or not, not sure but to take the Auto from Airport to Dili Haat.
Would the metro be better to travel alone on a Sunday ?
I dont have a problem in taking the metro but was advised not to by the Ashram..?
Not so sure, thank you to help.
