Transfer to New Delhi Airport from Agra train

I will be travelling from Agra by train to catch a flight to Bangkok from New Delhi Airport. The flight leaves at 8.45am. The train from Agra stops at H Nizamuddin (6.33am) and terminates at New Delhi Station (7.00am). It will be on a Sunday. It appears H Nizamuddin Station is much closer to the airport than New Delhi Station. Would it be faster to get off the train at H Nizamuddin and get a taxi (rather than go through to New Delhi Station)?

Not a hope in hell.

I'm yet to look at the timetables, but I know the train isn't one of the short distance trains, so the liklehood of the train arriving on time is not good.

EDIT, just checked, the train starts in Chennai some 33 hours before it's due to arrive in Delhi.

Train 2919 would be a better choice as it starts it's journey in Indore and also allows you a couple of hours in case it is late.

Train 2919, Agra Cant 01:25, Nizamuddin 04:33, New Delhi 04:55.

And yes, it would save time if you got a taxi from Nizamuddin instead of New Delhi.

I hope the OP is accounting for possible security delays at the airport! The days when knowing a bit of the local language would get you past security are gone (gripe). Someone was posting about struggling for 3 hours recently. The stress alone takes the joy out of travel for me..
