In no particular order and well worth seeing:
- Qtab Minar
- Humayan's tomb (go early morning)
- Red Fort
- Sikh temple (near Connaught Place)
- a walk around Delhi (old & new) just to get a feel for the city.

Cheers
Zoltan

Zoltan may be referring to the hues that the tomb emits in the early morning hours or the extra peacefulness of the grounds at that time ... but, regardless, it is certainly worth seeing no matter what time of the day you can happen to fit it in.

Purana Qila is also a fascinating site - full of interesting ruins, buildings, iconography, Persian tiles & calligraphy - might be my favourite in Delhi!

Since you are having only half a day , the following suggestions based on your staying in Paharganj and -

Sight seeing - India Gate/ Rashtrapathi Bhawan and Humayun's Tomb. There are a host of other tourist spots as well but a bit further away from your hotel. Old Delhi ( Red Fort/ Jama Masjid) is to be avoided for a first day experience( Paharganj will be enough of a shock) but easily reachable by metro from Connaught place.

Shopping - Connaught Place (CP) is about 1 km from Paharganj. This place will have a mix of Fast food joints ( KFC , McD , Pizza Hut ,Dominos , TGIF, Wimpy's ), Cafes ( Cafe Coffee Day , Costa Coffee , Barista), proper restaurants for Chinese / Mexican / South Indian / Continental food , Bars ( QBA , DV8 )and a host of Branded Retail shops for Apparel, Shoes , Books , Eyeglasses etc. Janpath market for ethnic curios and clothes .

If you are looking for anything specific , don't hesitate to ask any of the hordes of youngsters you will find in CP,for directions, as they are the most clued in to the happening places. June is summer holiday season and Connaught Place is a favourite haunt of youngsters.Beware of touts tho who may try to mislead you. Be smart and stick to the girls for directions , if required.

Cinemas - 2 multiplexes PVR Rivoli and PVR Plaza are in Connaught Place . Satyam multiplex is in Patel nagar - is 2-3 stops on the metro line from Paharganj (R K ashram station). Most of these will have both Hollywood and Bollywood movies running. Check out the timings in any English newspaper.

Absolutely spot-on.

Sorry for not making things clearer - I was trying to work on some projects while simultaneously responding to the enquiry :-)

Cheers
