Plenty of time to get the KALKA SHTBDI leaving from Rohilla at 07.40 (I already have an e-ticket). Is there a bus from the Intl Airport to Rohilla? If not, how much an I supposed to pay for the taxi (or tuc-tuc)?

Hello !! Are you sure that your train leaves from Sarai Rohilla station? The Kalka Shatabdi leaves from New Delhi and not from Sarai Rohilla unless something has changed? What date are you travelling?

Hello! Thanks for helping

I'm travelling on September 9th.
My ticket says:
TRAIN 2011 KALKA SHTBDI
From: DELHI S.ROHILLA (DEE)
Boarding: DELHI S.ROHILLA (DEE)

Should be Rohilla...
Can someone check if it is right? Just to be on the safe side

will be interesting when the airport rail link is build so all the goons cannot look to rip us tourists off!! I'm sure that they will find another way!! Take care at the airport...find the pre-paid booth and remember to wave the voucher near their faces so they know, 'No voucher = no pay!!!!!!'

Hi all,

I am new to the site and have a question regarding fedex/courier service in or near Delhi airport. We are planning on leaving for a short trip in Nepal and don't want to drag all our luggage with us. We will be in Delhi airport overnight before we catch the flight to Nepal. Leaving the luggage in the cloak room is not an option since we will be traveling from Nepal to Varanasi. TO make a long story short, is there a possibility of sending our luggage to our final destination through fedex/dhl or any courier service?

thanks in advance
mukho

Just wondering what the current pre-paid taxi price is from the airport to Old Delhi?

I finally got our tickets a couple of days ago and should be there in a couple weeks!

Rs.200-300, depending on exact location and time of the day.

What about the domestic terminals?

I have a connection from Mumbai to Delhi with Jet, which means I arrive at terminal IB.
How do I get to Paharganj from there?

Thanks a lot.

Hi... I am new to IndiaMike... let's say I have been looking at various Forums in the last few weeks, and now I have my first question... not even so sure this is the correct place for it...
I have just a question regarding the journey from NDLS Delhi Main station to the airport. How long is the journey? I am asking this because I should be taking an internal flight with Spice Jet at 14:35, is it possible to arrive at NDLS at 11:15 with AMRITSAR SHTBDI or is it too tight? Unfortunately all night trains are already in Waiting list...
Thank you in advance...

If the train is in time, then you should be fine.

To Pucho as well!!

I know this is a not answerable question... but are the SHTBDI train usually on time or with little delay?
I am from Italy and I would answer that here trains are at list 60% of the time delayed...
Thanks

In my experience , they have always been on time barring a big problem such as engine trouble etc..

in case anybody is interested - here's our recent Delhi airport experience:

First we changed some money at the State Bank of India branch at the airport – the rate we got for euros was ca. 1 Re per euro worse than on the following day from a Paharganj moneychanger. We took a cab from Delhi Traffic Police Prepaid Taxi booth inside the arrivals hall (apparently a new one in addition to the previously existing booth behind the exit). There are several other prepaid taxi booths there, but all are apparently much more expensive that the Delhi Traffic Police one, which was easily recognizable by a queue at front of the Police booth. It costed 310 Rs to Paharganj, including a surcharge for night driving. We gave right – if untrue - answers to the testing questions of the driver (“First time in India?” – “No, third”; “You have a hotel booking”– “Yes, of course, and the hotel managers are our friends and wait for us”) and he dropped us right at the door of Hotel Anoop just as we demanded, without trying any dirty tricks. As recommended by several posters on the IM forum, we also didn’t hand the taxi receipt to the driver until he brought us to the right destination.

Arriving to Paharganj at 2 a.m. without a hotel booking was no problem either, as several hotels had open doors and the receptionists were quite awake.
