I am pained and at loss of words.

May God be with her and grant strength to sail through mental and physical trauma.

She had both her legs amputed .... and now she has disappeared? Do you have any links or more detailed information as I'm having a hard time understanding the scenario?

As I understood they don't know in which hospital she ended after the accident... but still.... how do they know she had her legs amputed? Maybe it happened already during the accident

Horrible story... I wish her all the best and very good support. Shocking...

I think hospitals in India may have to file a police report for accident/hit & run victims. You can try checking with Delhi Police http://www.delhipolice.nic.in/

You wrote that she went for a walk. Where did she go for a walk? How do you know that she had both legs amputed? And when did this accident take place? I checked today's papers, no such accident reported and I don't think I have come accross any such news yesterday too.

This does sound terrible, but detail is lacking. How did you hear about this ani rich? Was it on TV or in a newspaper? Which part of Delhi and how did it happen?

An accident like this would get into the newspapers here (although, of course, I'm not aware of the ones that don't, I guess), even if it happened to a pavement dweller. Happening to a foreigner would probably make headlines.

Sorry i don't have answer to all of your obvious question but i got the information from one of her bengali friend called sabyasachi, reside in canada and with accompanying her in this tour. i dont know him but he mailed all the mayella's indian friend that she lost her both legs during a night walk. we did mail him for details. but there is no answer yet. i thought that he might be too bussy with hospital procedures etc.
yes it is right i also tried to look for headlines but failed to notice it is bit unnatural. but why anybody will do a pranks like this. so I don't know what to believe and what not. any way thanks to all of you for your concern. as soon as i get some news i will pass on to you.
