We are flying into Delhi, Just for a couple of days, we do not want to do much in Delhi, I want to see the Rail Museum and then want to see the the Taj.We are flying in from Visakaptnam and do not want to visit the museum with our luggage? is there somewhere in the airport where we can leave our luggage, and how far is the Railway museum from the airport.
And finally how much would it cost to het a taxi to Agra and how long will it take? I know it takes about a couple of hours on the train. When we get to Agra, we only want to see the Taj and the Agra Cantonement, my family were on the railway, and I have been right through the south taking in six states and been on 24hr plus trips, but my new wife has heard nightmare stories about the toilets on the trains. I would like to say that they are not as bads as they were, but I am not so sure. They must have improved in 8 year haven't they, and how many times does she want to go in just two hours? Any suggestions would be helpful |

Train 2002 "Bhopal Shatabdi and travel in 1A (Executive Chair Class), you will have the choice of 'Western' or 'Indian' toilets. Both are very clean. The train leaves New Delhi at 06:15 (arrives Agra Cannt 08:07). You can return in similar style on train 2001 "NDLS Shatabdi E", leaving Agra Cantt at 20:30, arriving New Delhi at 22:30 What does your wife think she'll do for toilets during a (longer) taxi ride? I'd prefer the train any day. By the way - free food and chai on the Shatabdi trains might swing the argument! There are other train options, but the Shatabdi offers the best bogs (especially in Exec Chair Class!).

Your flight at Visakhapatnam must be at 11:00 or 12:00 Noon. It would be via Raipur and reach Delhi at around 2:30 PM. You need at least an hour to get down to the Rail Museum from the Airport. Add another hour within the museum. That would mean 4:30 PM by the time you are out of the museum, which by the way is closer to the New Delhi Railway Station. That is not exactly a good time to start for Agra.
You could spend the night at a hotel. Better still, go to a hotel from the airport and dump your luggage there and proceed to the muesuem. You can then take the next morning Shatabdi as the previous post suggests. The Shatabdi toilets are way much cleaner and disinfected than the other trains...again as Ba9rn suggests.
