Tailor??? Do you know of a good Tailor?
I will be in Delhi and would like to find a good Tailor. I would like to have some clothing made.
A shop with good selection of materials, linen, silk, Acetate and spandex mix. Thanks! |

Usually you will get your cloth at one shop and sometimes they have tailors there but not always. My friend's mom has a tailor shop in Vasant Kunj called Stitch.. specializes in women's traditional wear but she can do other things too... it is just in high demand so you have to wait a bit on your clothes.
As far as shopping, I have heard Lajpat Nagar is good for cloth and I *know* Sarojini Nagar market is good for readymade clothes. |

Sarojini Nagar has plenty of tailors. I think there is a dedicated line of shops which does only that. Plus, great bargains!

It depends to some degree on what you want made...for example for formals (through repeated trial and error processes) i never buy cloth at 'just some shop' and stick to something like a Raymonds and then go back to my regular tailor..

kc2 -
most of them tailors are not too good with 'styling' and 'cuts'. so i'd suggest, you take along a sample of the attire you want made - and he can duplicate it. they do a darn good job at 'copy stitching'. :brishti |

Thats a good point, finding a good tailor can take weeks unless one is really lucky, so getting something 'copied' is a good option....unless ofcourse you dont have anything..and need to get something made from scratch..
