Suggestion needed for a Family Room near NDLS Rly Stn

Would anyone be able to advise a hotel near (i.e. walkable) New Delhi Rly Stn with spacious family room adequate for 2 families (at least 2 double-beds). We have self+wife+6y old + inlaws, and there is a chance that my brother-in-law might join later. Our budget is around 2000-2500 inr (including taxes). Since we are going in October, A/C might be nice to have, but perhaps negotiable.

I did note a Family Room in Ginger Rail Yatri Nivas for 1600 plus taxes, but it never seems to come up in the online booking searches... Any inputs about this option or alternatives are most welcome.

But, still the best bet would be Rail Yatri Nivas in the vicinity of New delhi Railway Station.

Online reservation starts working around three weeks prior to the intended date!

If you are reaching there before 8 AM then try your luck for the railway retiring room ....
Enquiry counter will be able to provide you with the details - availability / cost ....

Thanks! After reading the threads here I'm a bit skeptical about getting a booking done at the right time & I don't want to be searching for hotels after landing at the station...

I could still not see the family room availability online. If anyone has actually availed it, can they please post the procedure to reserve that & also whether it provides 2 double-beds?

Thanks for the tip! But this might be too risky for me. I would prefer to have a 100% confirmed booking at least for day 1...

An update from Ginger RNY based on mail exchange...

First, I went thru reservations@gingerhotels.com, which seems to be the common helpdesk, stuffed with the typical reps one would expect, I got what I deserved.
When I said "... I'm trying to book Ginger Hotel near NDLS Rly Stn ...", he responded "... please clearyfy the hotel location name ...". After I responded with the specific property URL, no response came through.

Next, I went thru reservations.delhi@gingerhotel s.com - which seems to be handled by the specific hotel, and this responses are more meaningful (even if not complete or helpful).
These are the inputs I got: "... bookings for the month of october has not been started yet ..." & "... family rooms can only be booked through our call centre team. As dates are not fixed for the opening of booking. It is expected to start in the mid of june. ..."

Hope this helps any others planning for Ginger RNY.

Can anyone suggest a 2BHK service apartment in a safe (not necessarily posh) locality in a price range of 2000 to 2500 per day for 1 week? Proximity to Rly or Metro Stn would be a bonus, but we might be needing a vehicle for transport anyway, so not mandatory.

we now have confirmed travel tickets, so booking the accommodation is the next step & we are in a position to commit financially.

we intend to be in delhi from 21-Oct 11AM to 27-Oct 8PM. we are looking for a guest house (1 family room or 2 dbl rooms) or 2bhk service apartment like facility for 1 week. does not have to be fancy, even a/c is optional at that time, free breakfast not a must. just need it to be clean & in a safe locality. closer to the station or metro would be a bonus, but since we'll be needing a vehicle, it is not really a decision making factor.
our budget is total 2K-2.5K overall per day. is that feasible???

Again, my vote would go for Rail Yatri Nivas (considering your budget),

just wrote to them to know availability for oct 3rd week so that i can call the call-center & make bookings... but this is what i got:
"booking have been started till the month September only. For the month of october bookings are expected to start in mid of september."

problem is that there is no clear guidelines on when bookings open, what time to call/book etc. assuming there wont be a huge inventory of family rooms, it seems to be a hit-n-miss case. i would like an assured place of stay at least on 1st day...

My request was to check over phone whether they would permit you to stay there for seven days!

Further, they start the reservation around three weeks prior to stay period!

I had also very horrible experience when I tried reservation first time, but once understood, everything became fine for me!

thanks prakaant for that idea. i'll try that during the weekend. you are right, perhaps they don't even read the whole e-mail (i had specifically mentioned the dates) & just provide canned responses.
