South Delhi too Far?

Going to India for the first time with my wife in January. Currently looking for a hotel in Delhi and I was wondering whether south delhi was too far away from the city center in order to stay there? Also wondering the same about the Gurgoan (sp?) neighborhood. Only going to have 2 days in delhi so want things to be convenient, but also seems like much better deals in these areas than in central delhi.

South Delhi is fine. Gurgaon for a couple of nights might work well also. Just plan your limited time and itinerary there efficiently and maybe get a 'hop on' a little earlier in the morning. Also, don't leave the often congested Old Delhi for the last hours of your stay and then have to get back South in a big hurry to make your travel connection.

Depending on traffic, South Ex is about a 40min car ride from main Delhi (CP). What I always suggest people do is google(maps) Delhi and familiarize yourself with the city. It helps a great deal when trying to put things in perspeetive and serves well for a point of reference.

South Delhi is alright. Gurgaon is a bit far if you stay only 2 days. Which place in south Delhi do you want to stay? If you choose Vasant Kunj or so, I think this is also very far. But there are many places with good access to the city center like Greater Kailash, Defence Colony, Lajpatnagar, ect..
