Short term housing

Hello,

I was offered a great opportunity to work in New Delhi for 10 weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions of safe/conveinient housing near Safdarjung Enclave Extension, New Delhi - 110029?

Thanks!

1. There was a post sometime back about a bunch of expat females sharing a house in Safdurjung Enclave. Ah, here it is, looking for female flat mate(s). If you're okay with such an arrangement, I suggest you PM Shikins who made that post to see if there's still room for one person.

2. You could also try searching for 'residential row house' on http://www.indiaproperties.com for rental listings in that area [refine results to limit to SE from the bottom of the results page]. People usually are unwilling to rent out for short periods but someone might agree to do it at a higher rental.

3. If money isn't an issue, you can always stay at a guest house in Safdarjung Enclave. These usually cost in the range of Rs.1500-2000. Another listing.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. Are the prices you spoke about per day? Also, is this area near public transportation?

Yes, the guest house prices are per day basis. It'll be failrly expensive to stay in a guest house if you're staying for 10 weeks. So consider that as the last option. You should be able to find a decent house accomodation within about Rs.10,000/month.

Transportation shouldn't be a problem if you get a place in SE itself since it isn't a big area. You might even be able to walk to your work. If you find a place in a nearby area, you can always take an autorickshaw to work. Travelling a busses is a big hassle during office hours.

Neighboring areas include: Hauz Khas, Gulmohar Park, Green Park, Yusuf Sarai, RK Puram, Qutub Institutional Area, Netaji Nagar, Sarojni Nagar and Munirka.

PS: okay forget IndiaProperties, just do keyword searches on the classified sections of India's two leading dailies - Hindustan Times and Times of India
