Share taxi: Delhi to Haridwar/Rishikesh

I'm not sure if this question has been asked on a previous thread but can someone tell me where share taxis might leave from the Paharganj area going to Haridwar or Rishikesh.

I don't know why you would not choose the train. You avoid the exhaust, the horns honking, you'll get there more relaxed, probably faster.
In Haridwar you can spend a night and see the real Hindu devotional life and the evening aarti, and then it's a frequent and easy bus ride up to Rishikesh.

Yes I have been to Haridwar & Rishikesh a few times and normally catch the train (have to agree it would be more pleasant). On this occasion however, I may be a bit short on time and the trains don't connect well with my flight into Delhi. Thought I might try a taxi...

Road conditions on Delhi-Haridwar highway is really bad these days. You may endup spending 8 to 10 hrs on the road. And in case you are planning to go on Sat or Sunday.. then you will find more trafic on the road. But but and but.. there is one road just after muradnagar.. which goes along with ganga canal ..with lesser trafic and still the in good condition. This beautiful metal road, though narrow, is dotted with trees on the Eastern side as the canal runs along the West. The road terminals join at Muradnagar near Gaziabad and Haridwar at the other end. The road made for KANWARIYAS for their long march has smooth surface.

Infact I am planning a 4 day trip to Haridwar in first week of Sept.. but I always prefer my Royal enfield bullet

Sorry I was offline for the weekend Wsminkapila but yes too short notice as I won't be there until this weekend and don't need the taxi until the 16th. I think I may have worked things out and will take the train anyway. Enjoy your journey :-)

bArFaNi, I am jealous of the Enfield though I imagine the horns are extra loud! Think I can take the train after all which sounds like a better option after reading your account of roads etc. Thanks for sharing...
