There are many restaurants in Pahar gang area, you also can try pindy restaurent near India gate.
Few good restaurants are in khan market too. |

For something up-market, try the Host in the inner-circle of Connaught Place. My favourite restaurant in Delhi. Alcohol available and smoking upstairs.

Not all that far from Diplomatic Enclave.. the Besant Lok/Priya Cinema complex has quite a few decent resteraunts.
You will see some foreigners though, but not really a tourist haunt which you didn't want.. most of these are Delhi residents. |

In delhi, we usually stay at CP and our favorite restaurants are
1. Sarvana bhavan for south indian breakfast 2. Kake da dhaba for dinner. hope you enjoy both regards mani |

In case you feel like eating vegeteranian food, try Khana unlimited at Connaught Place (very near to Nirula's). They serve unlimited amount for Rs. 100. They have a plate system (called Thali system in Delhi). The food is clean and fantastic and ambience great to spend time.
For our non-veg foodies try Minar and Nizams (both in CP) who serve kebab and Lucknow style meat food. Nizams is cheaper but seating area is not exactly great. |

I second the recommendation for Khana Unlimited in Connaught Place. Defence Colony also has some very good restaurants, including Swagath (north India) and Flavours (Italian).
