Republic Day Festival - 26th January in Delhi

Hi everyone,

Has anyone been to the Republic Day Festival on 26th January in Delhi?

Is it going to be crowded ?

Is it worth attending, I will be in India from Jan 22 - Feb 13.

yes it will be very much crowded, but a very well maintained crowd thanx to the huge presence of security personnel......the whole area will be heavily guarded, so crowd won't be a problem in whatsoever way......

Yes its worth attending more than once..................i've just been there once...will try to get my hands on the passes if i can...

Hey,but don't carry ANYTHING other than your wallet or passport etc...coz security will be so tight that even a simple writing pen might warrant strict checking at check-posts.....no camera, no edibles.......and secure your seat as early as u can coz the whole area will be cordoned off adn no vehicle of any sort will be allowed, so u'll have to walk up to your designated seat for some distance, maybe upto a kilometer.....

Will the Delhi IRCTC Office on Chelmsford Road be open at this day ???
It is very important for me to know because it is the only chance for me
to collect my 9 tickets.

January 26 is the official holiday in INdia both for government and private instutitions/offices.......... so the chances are pretty slim that IRCTC office will be opened on this day. better arrange it some other way........

@gujratihere: You can contact your tour operator....... or any travel agency for this.....or its best if you have friends/relatives out here in delhi
