Reliable camera shop in Delhi

Hi,
I need to buy a digital camera in Delhi, but I will only there for a few hours - could someone recommend a big reliable camera shop around Connaught place that would have a large selection? I am looking for buy a higher-end consumer camera (I am espeically looking for Panasonic Lumix and Ricoh brands). Thanks.

Also, did anyone ever get a camera repaired in Delhi? Any suggestions? The best would be to find an authorize Panasonic repair, but since I'm in a hurry, I would settle for any shop that would repair my broken camera.
Thanks!

for cameras around CP, head into Palika Bazaar. For camera repair, try Malotra's camera shop in CP.

I would never advise palika for stuff like this plus the entire 'price' difference factor is also dwindling.

I agree Malhotra is good but the biggest chain in Delhi is Rama colors..processing as well as tons of hi-end equipment + repairs..very professional guys....... where are you staying? can tell u the outlet closes to there in that case.

hi,

yes i've also heard that Palika is grey market.

i'm not sure where i'll be staying yet - but somewhere in central delhi - (actually any advice on good mid-range place, under 1200??) - where would the closest shop that does both repairs and sales be?

i'm going to try to repair my camera, buying a new one is the last resort option...

thanks so much

Of course Palika sell grey market stuff but once you take the product out of india, what use is a warranty?

The prices there are good and if you know about cameras then you'll be able to pick up a good deal.

A lot of products carry global warranties now... my camera purchased in Delhi has warranty applicable in the US and the UK...

Is there much of a price difference between Australia and India for digital cameras?
Do you reckon I should buy one before I go, or once I get there?

India is more expensive than US, UK, many countries of Europe and Australia when it comes to cameras and other consumer electronics. Also new models are launched in India sometimes as late as 1 year after they've been available internationally.
