Receiving mail in delhi

I'am in India for seven months and I need to receive a packet from my family but I don't have any adress to send it.

Is there any place in Delhi like an office, where I can receive a packet from my country?

Thanks in advance,

Mail address in India

So far I know, you can go to any Post Office & talk with the Post Master. You can bring with the address "Care The Post Master, XXXX Post Office & its address". You can get the packet delivered to you on production of your identity, or any Postal Identity Card. Hope the concerned Post Office can explain you in better way.

<cross-posted>

You can normally have mail sent to you at any post office across the world addressed

first name LAST NAME
Poste Restante
GPO
City, State,
Country

You'll then just have to figure out where the GPO (General Post Office) in the city in question is. In fact this can be sent to any post office, but you'd need to know its name and address. The mail will be held for quite a while, then returned if you don't pick it up and if it has a proper return address. Take your passport along to collect such mail, and be prepared to go through the entire stack as yours may have been misplaced under any given letter of the alphabet that may or may not appear in your name.

Am sure --a fellow delhi IM member can help you out. If not; then let me know and I will send you my address in Delhi and you can have it sent there. (PS: Am out of the country but can surely help you with receiving it)
