Reaching Akshardham & Zoo

Hi,

On our (Me & Wife) onward journey to Leh Via Manali need to spend one full day (almost) In Delhi & have decided to visit Akshardham Temple. I will coming by Rajdhani Express to New Delhi Station & will keep my luggage at the station cloak room. What I want to know is best way to reach Akshardam Temple from there, by public transport or if it's closer then by rikshaw (charges ?). Then I need to come back to station to collect my luggage & then move to Connaught place to catch Raj Volvo to Manali. Again need guidance on the mode of transport & rikshaw charges.

I will be returning to Delhi from Leh by Air & want to visit Delhi Zoo (after I keep my luggage in the New Delhi railway station cloak room). I believe Purana Quila is next to Delhi Zoo & will visit the same also. After this want to eat Gujarati thali @ hotel swati (Karol Bagh) & then catch Rajdhani express back to Mumbai. Need guidance on mode of transport & approx. chagres.

Thanks

Ronak.

You will need to take an Auto or a taxi, it will be about 10-12 Km's from the Station so a rickshaw is out of the question..

The zoo again is about 8 odd Km's from the railway station...so again Auto or Taxi will be needed.

Hi Ronak,

As Sidharth already mentioned, you have to take Auto or Taxi from Rly station, its better to get radio cabs which will charge you Rs. 15/- per km ( point to point ). This is safer and comfortable option.

Pl keep in mind that both Zoo and Akshardham Temple remain closes on Mondays.

Cheers !!

Thanks Sidharth & Vivek for your replies.
Any cost idea for normal taxis.
Also let me know distance between Airport & New Delhi Railway station & approx. taxi charges for the same.

Will be visiting Akshardham Temple this Thursday & Zoo on 26 th Aug Tuesday.

Is it raining heavily in Delhi ?

Charges for normal taxis are around 70% of what you pay to AC Radio Cabs.

Airport is around 25 kms from Rly station . You can get prepaid normal taxis from both the places.

Since last 3 days, its very humid and sunny in Delhi.

Cheers !!!

Hi ya,

Akshardham & Zoo will not be done in a day mate. Akshardham ( with the mythlogical show) will take you at LEAST 6 hrs and you can imagine how much can u cover.

It is raining off and on but like Barfani mentioned it indeed is humid. So Delhi Xoo anyway will not be a good idea in a humid weather.

Dont exhaust urself........Leh truely deserves a fresh mind and body

Best
