so EasyCabs won't need the 2h in advance booking? i'm arriving at 6am well with delays, customs etc 8am.. isn't it rush hour by then?
I remember just outside the terminal was the bus stop.. is it safe to hop on a bus and leave ur luggage in its belly?

I know there's a booth for easy cabs inside the domestic airport and I think one in the international. The booths are just outside
in the arrivals lounge after you come through from picking up your luggage. If you have a mobile phone working here you can ring yourself. You can also get good cars from the Delhi Tourism Corporation booth - cleaner than Police booth taxis.

Question

I've searched before asking this question and can't find the answer or suggestions anywhere.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to find a good car and driver for about four hours in Delhi? From domestic terminal to Jor Bagh in the morning, waiting for about 90 minutes and then back to the airport early afternoon?

You can book the radio cabs for that itself. They do have options for 4 hours booking.

I arrived in Delhi on Sunday and used a pre-paid easy cab. The ride was fine and I felt confident the driver was doing a good job. However, I paid RS410 from the airport to Pandara Road - a tad on the expensive side...

Overall a good service.

that price point is fine. Its about 220 from the domestic to Def Col...add the additional Km's and it sounds fine...maybe 375-380 would be more realistic, but i dont think you should consider your self had..

Puchoo, tembo took a pre-paid radio cab, and they are more expensive then the metered ones.

Secondly, the cab would follow the different route altogether, So cannot compare with def col fares. In this case the cab will come from Dhaula Kuan and go towards Teen Murti for Pandara road. So my guess is it would be under Rs.250 for the Pandara road as well.

Hi - I start work tomorrow and the office location has moved from Jasola to Noida Sector16A! I plan to take a cab or rickshaw, but grateful if anyone on the forum has any suggestions for what is most effective. 16A is just by the toll bridge so will likely use that. I will be travelling from Pandara Road, but happy to take a bus or something to get closer to the bridge.

Cheers

Agreed, but its the distance vis a vi Km's that would eventually decide the price , and even the Dhaula Kaun route might not necessarily be shorter...

I have absolutely no statistics to back this up, and my post does not come with any legally binding guarantee of your safety, but as I believe that the risk of having an accident is many many times greater than the risk of being attacked because I'm female, I'd certainly use a radio cab without thinking twice about my gender.

I'd back up your statement Haylo. Particularly re radio cabs - there is a strict logging system it seems to me with these, records of who is driving, who and where they are picking up, where they are going etc. Unlike the pre-paid police ones at the airport booth - although this may have tightened up now.
