Thanks for this - I've noted the telephone no. for my next Delhi visit and will try them. On the bookings page though is there a mistake - in the top right corner we have Quick Bookings no. is 45333333 and then in the info. further down it says Call centralized no. 43555555. Do you know if there are these 2 nos. or just the one? I see you have 45333333 in your post, so I assume that's the one?

btw, the confusion lingers on, I can see that they have 2 numbers there, and quality of the site doesn't inspire much confidence. Read this statement for instance :

Quote:
On receiving a call for a pick-up, the centralized, fully computerized reservation centre uses the GPRS screen to direct the nearest available taxi to you and also informs you of the time the taxi is expected to take to reach you.

A few weeks ago, I did this. The 8 hour prices include 80km and 4 hours prices include 40km. DelhiCabs charge Rs 1000 for aircon cab and driver for eight hours. I also used a small local firm, who charged only Rs 800 per day or Rs 400 per half day, but that was on the basis of the time running from when they leave their depot.

Researching this online, I found several companies have two different web pages, giving prices in $ and Rs. It seems that if you pay in Rs the web pages quote a much lower price for the hire, but do not specifically state that you'll have an English speaking driver, hire time starts from when they leave the depot, and you have to pay tolls and any parking charges.

Never paid tolls so I don't know how much they cost, I suspect not much. Parking charges are not a relevant factor in making the choice, unlike every other capital I've been to, parking charges are negligible - I believe they are Rs 10 or less!

There are no tolls within Delhi. And going out to Gurgaon and Noida or such, toll charges are small enough not to make a large difference anyway- roundabout 50 for Noida (return). Gurgaon I don't know since never used.

Parking is 10 rupees everywhere I have been.

Bhai logo !!

Toll rates for Gurgaon are Rs. 17/- at Rangpuri Toll and the Rs. 21/- at second Toll plaza ( after Hero Honda ). Rates are one way. To avoid toll , one can use Old Del-Gurgaon road, via Kapashera. ( Not recom druing peak office hours ).

Parking fee is Rs. 10/- for initial 2 hours parking, after that its Rs. 10/- per hour.

You all may me wondering, how come I know all these :-) actually my job profile is such that I have to travel daily more than 100 kms in Del / Noida /Gurgaon and other NCR towns.

Cheers !!

This is not relevant to all the places. I guess I have come across this in CP area only.

In Nehru place, they have started to charge Rs.20 per entry. And they also have a multi level parking there, but its almost exorbitant. Last I used it for 3-4 hours and ended up paying Rs.80.

At most of other places the parking is still Rs.10 flat.

PS : As far as I remember the toll for DND Flyway is Rs.20 one way.

The incremental parking is only applicable in certain areas, infact CP was the first one... but our dear parking attendants never hesitate to tell you that it is incremental even when its not...so watch out for that.

Mod Note: Coming late to this thread, just now noticing your post re title adjustment, Shashank. All done!

And yes, I read GPRS too, Shashank, and thought, my word they won't be quick if that's the operating system they're using - I'm always complaining about the speed of my GPRS if I have to use it!!

Its not about Adjusting the title, but modifying the first post of this thread, to include the information of quick cabs, like the numbers, website etc. The way captain did last time.
