I think one reason behind this could be the short distance between the two stations and other possible reason could be the crowded old Delhi area.

In future if you face this kind of situation i.e when you want any local information about Delhi/NCR region - you can call -011-22222222(just dial service.

Do any of these firms operate in Noida as I am having to use a cab on a daily basis, and would prefer these to the normal cabs/ car companies?

I used Easy Cabs and they were excellent. Their phone number is 43434343.

You must have a mobile number to give them or you cannot book the car. I used a Indian friend's mobile number and then they text you the confirmation code to the mobile. You do not need the confirmation number as all is confirmed with the person who you made the booking with.

hi

HI I take it easy cabs operate form Noida than?
As I am using a cab almost on a daily basis and prefer and better company than the one I currently use who are more tractor drivers than taxi drivers. Though in INdia I am also not sure what the difference is!

There are only two primary Radio Taxi operators operating in Noida - Easy Cabs and Delhi Cabs. I have experienced the services of both and I would recommend Delhi Cabs as the vehicles are much better maintained and the drivers are very cordial and warm.

noida cabs

I tend to agree, Delhi cabs are good having now used them regularly for a few weeks. Relatively punctual and clean.

At least the drivers don't open the door every five minutes to spit, urinate, clear their throat and anything else that comes into their heads.

'urinate'??? Really? I have never in all the years I have lived here come across a cab driver opening the door to do this! Yes to the betel chewing and spitting, but not from any of the better cab companies.

Wow.. really..
I've been using a local cab service for past 3 years and yet to have a problem with them. Cheap, always on time and drivers are cordial. No door opening incidents or stopping in between to urinate..

Mod note and addition below at Shashank's request on 10/1/2008

Additionally:

Members can check when they book the car whether the service providers accept credit card or not, I guess all of them do accept.

Secondly Easy Cab (43434343) has an option for dropping you to the airport from any part of Delhi/NCR for Rs.350 or Rs.15 per km (Whichever is Lesser). Again users have to confirm the same when they place the call for booking.

Note: This thread should be read in conjunction with these two:
Prepaid cab from IGI Airport
Airport cab to hotel, etc. - Scam?!?!

*ForShe Cabs is the taxi service operated by women drivers, and will only take women passengers and children.
.
Thank you for this. will use them on arrival. She cabs sound good to me. Safety first and will help our sisters!!!

Suggestions please

I will be in delhi with my husband for 6 hrs and plan to visit Lotus temple and Redfort. However, we will have big luggage with us. Is it safe to hire the cab and leave luggage in cab, while we visit these places? Any suggestions on which cab facility is the best in this case?

Hello Vedab,
It certainly is not very safe to leave your lugguage in any public transport vehicle. I think it'll be a lot safer to leave your lugguage at the Railway's Cloak Room, if you have the access.

Abhijit

Hello,we spent days in Delhi last year and loved it but 6 hours to travel from the airport with the famous clogged up traffic jams, please get some good advice before leaving the airport the last thing you need is to miss your flight.
