Easy Cabs - 011-43434343 I forgot to inform you, you'll have to bear Toll charges too. Add Rs. 32 (16 x 2) to the fare.... Last edited by Aishah : Apr 12th, 2009 at 10:12. Reason: merging posts |

Thanks for the numbers for the ForShe Cabs Delhiwala - I have posted them on the Original Post put here by Shashank.
Folks - all the cab numbers are on that post - it is a useful reference point.

Do the same companies provide AC or non AC cabs? How long does it take for a cab to reach you? Can we just ask a passing cab to stop or is it that bookings are only telephonic?

Time depends on the demand supply position and the location of cab from your pickup point. So book at least an hour ahead. And yes you can hail any passing cab......
One Non AC Cab contact details are 011-45333333 |

Meru Cabs operate A.C cars (Logan) in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad & Bangalore. Their number is 44224422, prefix the city code you want their service. You can pre-book even before leaving your city. They also SMS MERU to 57575. You can also book online at www.merucabs.com
I used their service at Bangalore & will stick to them where-ever possible. Only downside is that they don't accept pick-up booking from airport (atleast in Bangalore). However I did find quite a number of them at BIAL parking area as informed by the operator earlier. On way back they did accept drop request to BIAL. |

My personal experience is that Meru is best of all the existing service providers, while almost all charge flat 15 Rs./km,but service levels of Meru are class apart.

Kapil - can you make your post more clear, I can't quite understand it. Do Meru Cabs charge 15r. per km? And are there any extra charges e.g. booking charge etc? For instance if I go from Ginger Hotel, New Delhi near the station, to Old Delhi station by them how much would I pay?

yeah,Meru people charge 15 Rs/km in Delhi and they dont charge any booking charges, except for any toll charges/waiting charges(for delay of more thehna 15-20 minutes),parking charges etc.
shortest distance between Ginger hotel at New Delhi and old Delhi station would be around 4 kms,I dont think they operate on such small routes...suggest you call them at 011-44224422 and find out. |

Thanks Kapil - I've noted the number. Even though the distance is short they may have a minimum charge.

Unfortunately they had no available cabs for me this afternoon when I rang this morning (Meru Cabs). I also tried the For She Cabs, and nothing there either. My BSNL mobile was down (needed a minor repair job) where I had stored all the Delhi radio cab nos and I didn't have time to get my computer back on until just now! In the end I used one of those clapped out black and green vans, sweltered with the humidity and heat all the way to Old Delhi station! Okay now though - I'm in the a/c train compartment at present on the way back to Jodhpur!
Still I have all the nos. for next time I am in Delhi - the For She no. is changed, and hopefully I won't forget to do it but when I'm back in Jaisalmer and have unpacked one of my bags where I put the slip of paper with the new no. I will fix it on the OP of this thread. |
