| For sumptuous and tasty South Indian snacks and meals try Saravana Bhavan restaurant at 46, Janpath.

The best pure vegetarian restaurant I tried is in the ISKCON Temple complex (Hare Krishna Temple). It's called 'Govinda's' and you can eat as much as you like from their wonderful freshly prepared buffet. Prices when I went were 180 rupees - all you can eat (Sant Nagar Main Road, East of Kailash, New Delhi) Do take a look inside the vibrant temple while you're there and also the 'Vedic Expo', kitshy, but a lot of fun :-) Nearby - about 5 minutes walk - is the famous 'Bahai Lotus Temple'!! Not to be missed... :-)

Pandara Road Sarvana Bhavan is indeed a good choice. Also, try Veg Gulati near Jaipur House on Pandara Road. It is a veg only joint and has pretty good food.

Dhanyavad Jolly72, showing some great Indian hospitality there :-) Tembo, thanks. Good to see this old thread from 2004 picking up with new recommendations for us vegetarians. Delhiwala, North Indian, yummy!! Will definitely try Sattvik and combine it with a shopping trip, as on another thread people have been recommending Select CityWalk !!

Ha! I didnt even notice the dates! Yes, always good to see some Veg recommendations. I notice you have an Aus connection. There is a cafe Oz in Select CityWalk (well one of the three malls there - I am never sure which is which) and they serve Flat Whites!

OH really, an Ozzie cafe...wow!! Lucky people!! Sure wish I had my own coffee shop in Delhi :-) Is it really run by Aussies? I think in another thread someone mentioned a Cafe Oz in Khan Market? Sita, flat whites: just a plain ordinary white coffee. Flat as opposed to frothy milk on top. Heheh, not referring to a less then well-endowed white girl :-)
