Public Restrooms
Public Restrooms
This might be a weird question, but are there any chain/franchise restaurants/shops that usually have clean restrooms? (like Starbucks in US)
I usually like to walk around and check out places all day long (mostly South Delhi), but I'm always scared to eat out in case I end up with an upset stomach. I was at Khan Market the other day and the public restrooms there were disgusting.

usually 3-star & above hotels should have decent restroom within the restaurants (or outside in the lobby).pizza hut & dominoes are two outlets which have acceptable ones wrt indian standards...

The restrooms at the backside of the McDonald's building situated in South ex Part II are good. these are specially taken care of as there are a number of restaurants and salons in the particular building.

Try Cafe Coffee Day. Terrible coffee but you'll find the toilets up to standard.http://g.co/maps/2ehnm
usually the good brands have clean toilets per the standard here, but the popular markets especially on weekends get so much footfall (you might want to check India'/Delhi' poopulation
and draw some avarage stats).. that the standards fall on the face.. i have seen McDs keep their restrooms closed in the outer CP outlet, just imagine
..
its hard to name a chian, its more of try your luck scenario but most of the international F&B brands as suggested can be tried..
BTW, the amazing food the city offers is not to be missed for anything..

I don't know, I don't care, and it doesn't make any difference!
I was going to suggest Cafe Coffee Day too, as their toilets are fine and you can find the chain in many places. Look for a red and white sign.
Today I had deLIIICious coffee (latte) at Market Cafe in Khan Market, and their toilet was fine too.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll keep an eye out for MCD or coffee places and hope for the best. Speaking of coffee places, I find it strange that most of them have you pay for WiFi and if you sit for a while without getting a drink, they try to get rid of you. lol
Indian public restrooms (washrooms or bathrooms) are among the dirtiest that I have seen anywhere. I am more than happy to pay for the use of a clean facility --- even paid facilities that I used (in Kolkata) were filthy.
Hoping some corporation builds pay-for-use restrooms in India, it will be a money making business.

??? If you don't buy anything, how are you their customer? Given that there is a dire shortage of pleasant places to sit down outdoors in Indian cities, it is hardly surprising that businesses that provide a nice place to sit have to reserve that for their own customers. Otherwise they might get swamped!
