The 'Delhi Traffic Police' pre-paid taxi stand is out the arrivals door to the right. On the way, you may well be solicited by 'others' who will vie for your business & rightfully claim pre-paid taxi services .... but the DTP pre-paid will most likely give you the fairest fare.

... And as another poster recently reminded us, be sure to change/withdraw your money inside the airport first before stepping out (there's a fee to be paid if you want to get back in. In Rupees.)

I'm sure that at times of incoming flights they'll be there yes. It's just business to them, right.
Have a swell trip ![]() |

Is Rs700 too much from the airport to Pearl Plaza, Rajguru Rd, North Delhi? Thats what they charge for airport pickup... LP says its 16km from the airport. Thanks |

If are comparing it to the pre paid cabs available at the airport, then yes Rs.700 is too much for any part of Delhi,

Its too much , but if its a hotel car it will always be more expensive than a taxi.

If in delhi why not get the CAB's by easycab or dialacab or some other.
They have very decent drivers and you get the CAB in about 1/2 an hour to one hour at max. The cost is 15Rs per KM which is three times the auto but the cars are air conditioned and neat and clean. |

Taxi fare from International Airport to Amber hotel
Hi,
I was just wondering how much the taxi fare from the International Airport to the Escorts Hospital area (Okhla Phase III) would be! The 'hotel driver' option is going to cost me Rs. 1000+ and I thought it was a bit too much! Thanks. Last edited by Dilliwala : Nov 18th, 2008 at 19:48. Reason: merged thread |

Hi bostonindian,
Using my favourite site www.mapmyindia.com, it shows up as around 25km from the international airport to the area you want to go to. The Rs.1000 is way too much. Am I right in guessing that you're staying i a star-rated hotel ? Just go for a pre-paid taxi (use the Delhi police booth) and it will be signficantly cheaper. Cheers Zoltan

Thanks everyone. After hearing the amount, I HAD pretty much made up my mind to take a prepaid taxi from the airport!
You folks confirmed my decision. Zoltan, I'm not sure what the definition of a star rated hotel is. They advertise it as a boutique hote and it has good reviews on TripAdvisor (which I hope is still a good representation of actual tourist experiences :-) |
