Prepaid cab from IGI Airport

A hostel in Majnu Ka Tila has quoted me a price of 1000 Rs for airport pickup, inclusive of parking and entry fees. Is this ridiculous? I'm arriving around 9 pm; do I need to be very concerned about safety (solo female), or would taking a taxi to CP and then catching the metro be a viable idea? Does anyone know the price of a pre-paid taxi to Majnu Ka Tila?

Even Ginger Hotel Travel desk (budget hotel by Tata) quoted 1200/- for airport oickup. I think it should cost around 500/- fro pre paid taxis

Have the complete address of the place. It would be more economical as well as convenient to take taxi directly to your hotel and not to CP. Rs 1000 is on higher side you can take normal prepaid as well or an AC cab for third of that price.

No, why would you, an airport pick-up is a handy service, certainly just on (a first) arrival & being groggy and disoriented and stuff.

You could drop the quoted rate here and see what others think of it.

Why all this confusion & 150 posts on Airport Pre-paids & suggesting dial a cab & hotel pickups???
It's very straight forward really a prepaid taxi from the airport prepaid desk run by Delhi Police is around RS 250, you should be able to workout other prices to other areas from that, depending on distance from airport. KK

Regarding these, there were other posts suggesting that they would not go to Noida. In fact, easycabs.com's site explicitly states that Delhi radio taxis are not allowed to cross state lines, in the FAQs. I believe the city prepaids are also not allowed to cross state lines.

Does this mean I'm out of luck and need to take the expensive airport transfer? Surely there's some taxi service that offers reasonable rates to Noida?

Noida is a part of NCR easycabs website expilitly states Delhi & NCR as one region.

It would be less than 400 rupees. It is easy to get pre-paid from the airport - there is a booth for Easy Cabs, and also the police pre-paid booth (Easy Cabs are better condition than the latter).

The Delhi tourist corporation also have a pre-paid booth - more expensive then the police one, but certainly not as pricey as your quote.
