Places to eat near the newdelhi railway station

Our train halts at newdelhi station at 8.30pm for about 30mins. Any recommendations for good north indian food on the station? Because we would be bored with the food served from the pantry car.

Ajmeri Gate side has a McDonalds and a Comesum restaurant. Both do packing.

Just outside the Railway Station on Paharganj side, there are many good dhabas.

But please be adviced not to get lost in the crowd at the station. There is Delhi Metro construction work going on at Ajmeri Gate side which makes the passage quite a criss-cross. Don't venture too much, you might not be able to make it back to your train in time. Also, make a note of the platform the train arrives on - if it comes anywhere from platform no. 1 to 5, don't even think of venturing towards the Ajmeri Gate side.

Thanks..are there any eateries on the platform itself. Don't think 30min is enough to go somewhere faraway and pack and come back..

McDonald is on the platform itself, but the last one on Ajmeri Gate side. I do not remember the platform no.

All the same. Its just not worth it in 30 min.

30 minutes is nothing, even assuming your train respects this schedule (not sure if it would should there be a delay). Better not to venture too far off and buy something on the platform until you get to destination.

You'll find a number of small eateries on the platform itself. Incase your train arrives at Platform 11 or 12, you may try the Mac Donald's which is on platform 12. Take care and have a safe journey.
