Places around Delhi?

First off, I just found this site, and I'm simply amazed. Brilliant forums all! Really useful, informative and seems like a nice place to hang out Also, apologies if this question has already been covered before, but I couldn't find much by looking around.

Do you have any suggestions for places around Delhi that are good to visit in early April? We'll have about a week, and would like to catch some places around that time. Some place that is an overnight journey by road would be perfect (We've already covered Haridwar/Rishikesh on an earlier trip).

There seem to be many hill-stations around. Are any of them easy to do overnight? Any favoured locations?

Also, I'm an amateur photographer looking for some shots to catch, so if you all have any tips on locations that offer some good scenery/wildlife, that would be great.

If you find it hot in Delhi then Mussoorie is only an overnight train ride to Dehra Dun plus less than 2 hours taxi ride up to one of the highest hill stations. There's also an afternoon 6 hour train arriving around 8.30 p.m. to Dehra Dun.
Nainatal would also be cool - these hill stations are probably the closest ones to Delhi.
