Or, depending on where you are staying, the Buddha Jayanti Park (haven't been to this one for awhile, so cant be sure).
Buddha Jayanti Park ?! Now what are you thinking you naughty boy ? And what were you doing there ?

Do they still have the smooching teenagers(Get a Room!) at Safdarjung and other monuments? No that there's anything wrong with it but they were so numerous/conspicuous that it took away a bit of the historic ambience.

Yes. BJP (not to be confused with the political party) and Nehru Park are the current hot spots for the same though.

Surely he was there to photograph the Buddha..!

Buddha Jayanti, nearby Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali and Nehru park are all lovely places for a picnic, quiet walk or just somewhere to sit and read, and have the advantage of all the other visitors being more interested in each other than bothering a gori!

Lodhi gardens is another favourite place of mine, though it can get busy at times, and Humayun's tomb is particularly quiet and hassle free, probably because you have to pay to get in.

The railway museum is so peaceful on weekdays. Qutb Minar too. Buy the book Delhi A City Guide for some fantastic ideas. It is one of my most treasured posessions.
