Parasailing

Hi

I've heard it's possible to go parasailing somewhere about 40 miles of Delhi. Has anyone done this or have an idea of cost?

Thanks

Louise

First post for me here, Louise I would be careful going parasailing or paragliding in India. I am a paraglider pilot and have heard a lot of horror stories about it in India. Parasailing (being towed behind a boat) is worse in that you have no control. If you must go, have good travel insurance that covers your activity (a lot of them do not). Check for worn fabric, etc. and frayed lines.....

Thanks Lars.

Yes, after your post, I did a search and found some info about some tourists that had died a few years back.

Would you say the same is true for paragliding in terms of safety? Never done either before.

For any activity which, in your own country, you would rely on standards, regulations, inspections, etc, please don't assume that any of that happens here. In fact, it is safer to assume that it doesn't. Stay on the ground!

Paragliding can be fairly safe (about the same accident rate as motorcycling) you have to go tandem with an instructor to start. I wouldn't recommend it in India though. If you're ever in the Seattle area though I can hook you up!

Cheers,
Lars

Here's a link I've been looking for for days about tandem paragliding in India. Should tell you all you need to know!
