Pallika Bazaar
Is Pallika Bazaar in Delhi like Hyderabad Central (a Western air-conditioned market selling expensive Western goods)?
Or is it a comfy n quaint place to shop for Indian stuff? |

it's home to the world-famous shit on your shoe scam!
it finally happened to me last year, and I took the opportunity to check it out . . . didn't smell like poop . . .

HAHA. Pallika Bazaar had to be the most humid hot sweaty spot in all of Delhi. That place was NOT comfy. It did rock though, in a C grade movie sort of filmi way.................. ![]()

I found it loads of fun and very memorable, but not comfy in either the Western or Indian sense. |

Very hot and humid down there, mainly electronics and DVD shops and a few each of clothing, souvenirs and bookshops. I'm a big shopper and didn't buy anything from the second bunch, the quality and range isn't fantastic.
If you're looking for a pleasant place to buy western goods I'd suggest Connaught Place instead - you'll have to go outside to get between shops but most of the high-end stores have AC anyway, and the quality's generally better (but the prices are also higher). |

before I caught an old man in the act of applying it on my new Sneaks last year. As he was running away I wiped the Doo-Doo on the back of his Dhoti . Sure smelled like the real McCoy to me Moral: Always have your head on a swivel when you approach the Palika |

Congratulations PeakXV! I think you've set a new record!
I'm only a two-timer! What slightly puzzles me is why you kept going back for more! ![]()

The equivalent of Hyderabad Central in Delhi would be Ansal Plaza, definitely not Palika Bazaar.
