Hey
I'm looking to make a trip somewhere close, outside delhi for a night and two days. I'm not too keen about rajasthan because I'm a little tired of it ...and it's just as hot during the larger part of the day there . Anywhere slightly higher up would be fantastic.I was thinking about Haridwar or rishikesh, but i dont want to waste such a short trip on the latter; there's lots i want to do in rishikesh. But is there much to do in haridwar? also isn't the accomodation exorbitant at this time? And I'll be travelling with my boyfriend and I've heard some crazy stories from ppl about how some hotels are very strict about unwed couples(?!) could really use some help/suggestions/advice! ![]() |

thanks for the suggestion
I'm guessing the fastest yet cheap way to get anywhere is by train. Kalka and Solan are supposed to be the closest stations. Any idea if buses from either of these places go upto kasauli?(dont think i can afford the cab ) |

Just hang around 'till one of the delhi members, like shashank or puchoo show up, they'll be able to help you out.

Try Renuka/Dadahu. Nice places. Nothing much to worry about ona ccomodation front. About 8 hrs by Bus from Delhi or about 5 hrs by Car. Route : Delhi-Karnal-Sahabad-Shajadpur-Kalaamb-Nahan-Renuka-Dadahu. Alternate: Delhi-Karnal-Yamunagar-Paonta Sahib-Nahan-Renuka or paonta sahib-Sataun-Renuka.
Renuka has a lake and a small zoo with an open lion safari. dadhu is a small town with a nice scenic river. |

2 days which also includes travel is a bit tight, not so much in getting someplace but being able to really unwind..having said that however you can consider..
Kasauli is already on your radar. Renuka has been suggested as well. Just a little beyond Renuka is Nahan. While Himachal / Uttaranchal might appear to be the closest options i have 2 others which might be worth your while. The first is Sohna Hills , located only 60 Km's from Delhi ontop of the Aravali Hills. http://www.thebharat.com/tourism/hillstation/sohna.html The second is Morni Hills which is about as far as Kasauli, you can read about it here -> http://www.haryana-online.com/morni_hills.htm I personally have been to neither , though i know people who have and they were ok with both. |
