one day get away on 26th jan.

hi,
i would like to have suggestions for having a one day getaway on republic day , with friends some place which is abt 2 hrs drive from delhi , n one can spend the day, outdoors.

Realistically, a one day get away from Delhi doesn't exist as far as I know and I would be schocked and thrilled if some one suggested.

I have cooked up a couple.
Try DamDama lake near Gurgaon. It will be crowded on jan 26th. There is an 'island' resolrt in the lake which may not be crowded. There are some small hillocks near by where you can do a few hours worth trek. I like this place if I am really short of time.

Another place is Gharmuteshwar , ganges flowing closest to Delhi. Its ok. Do a little boating laze around the river banks.

What we do is drive on the Jaipur or Chandigarh highway. Take an arbit turn and go to some arbit village and eat in some arbit dhaba, join some village kids playing cricket, come back to some bar like 32nd milestone for the evening.
