Old City accomodation

Usually I'm happy in Paharganj but (maybe I'm a wimp) the recent bombings made me think of staying in a less touristy area. My budget is 300-500rs and I will be with my 2 youngsters (14 mths and 8 yrs)

ummm.....you could try the Karol Bagh area i guess...but there are enough tourists there as well....i dont think you will have any issues with Paharganj really.. any place is as safe or unsafe when someone decided to blow up something..

2 years back I stayed at Hotel New City Palace (ph. 23279548)- just at Jama Masjit. The hotel was not bad really for it's price (budget range), but nothing special - except the ambience of deep muslim area around and in the hotel (I liked it very much), the stuff was pleasant. You could have a room with the view at Jama Masjit and enjoy it The price was about 400 IR for double. The restaurant at the rooftop was not bad for breakfast, and the famouse Carim's is at 3-minutes walk.

Don't know about more upmarket options - the guidebook recommends Hotel Broadway

old city

Thanks Wichy
As specified I am not looking for upmarket... I too like the atmosphere to be found in the muslim quarter of cities so perhaps that would suit me...
