Off the beaten path in Delhi

Hi there,

I'm going to Delhi next week. It's my fourth trip there in ten years, and I've seen enough temples and museums. I'm looking to find things in Delhi that are interesting but usually not printed in the travel guides. I like to go places that are very 'Indian' and people-watch. Does anyone have any good advice about places to go. If so, let me know.

Thanks,
John

The Toilet Museum! What a perfect place to spend the day exploring the other side of Delhi, especially if you have Delhi Belly!!!

Thanks for the tip!

Railway buff ?

If you're a railway buff( as I am), then I suggest you spend a day at the New Delhi or Delhi Jn. railway station. Observe the various trains that come and go, the vendors, coolies, passengers, the scramble, the fights, etc., etc.

Certainly very "Indian" and the best place for "people watch".

Get on a bus. When you see an interesting neighborhood, get off. Sometimes you find neat little shopping areas, where you can sit and watch and take it all in.

You could go to the National Railway Museum.
