November meet up in Delhi
Yes friends we had the meet up yesterday welcoming the onset of winter in the city. Imers turned up in colourful jackets & pullovers. Thanks to Radz for arranging the show. Our guest was Usha from Trivendrum.
We started off with a toast to Mike. Chants of “Long live Mike & Indiamike” filled the air. Among many highlights(highlight of all IM meet ups) most notable was our dear Bijapuri enacting the tigers of Corbett park. We “roared” in laughter. Usha explained the role of tummy in playing the Ghatam, so much to learn I say. Quite naturally traveling was discussed. We all spoke about our most harrowing tales regarding arrivals & departures. We enjoyed Vinay’s experience of having been to choose between his luggage and a seat in the plane on his way back to Delhi from the US. Bachus cam a bit late but made up for this soon. A shy young man from Copenhagen walked up with his half finished bottle of beer & his glass & took his seat. Bijapuri had noticed this person drinking alone downstairs on his way out and prodded him to go upstairs. I think the IM membership goes up with one more joining in. I thought since we were to meet at 6 PM the meet up would be over early, but it was almost midnight when I dropped off our Danish friend at ITO. radz is a pro so we were constantly “shot” by her Nikon. I am sure she will post the pics. Dear Vinay was as usual in his elements. In these meet ups you get to know the real persons whom you met in the cyber space. Isobel turned out to be one such lovely person. We sang a couple of songs & cheered, air of peace, love & friendship prevailed all throughout. We decided to have more frequent meet ups. Om Shanti. |
