nazimuddin like ajmer and most sufi sites in pak. are bustling places where the great unwashed visit and stock up on hope .It is not and ASI site that you just walk in and see.It is a living centre of Indian sufi Islam.
I did encounter some degree of hassle there and was without my old LP Delhi only detailed guide book which shows you around so to speak.

If anybody saw the Hindi movie Fanaa -- is this the saint's tomb that Aamir Khan's character, Rehan, takes Kajol (Zooni) to?

No idea. You'll realize fanaa is a Sufic state? It means annihilation. It's the final and necessary step before union (with god) so to speak.

I think they've clamped down on them at HT - it's Safdarjung's tomb that is more Delhi's 'make-out mecca'.

I don't mind themedieval sufi vibe at nizamuddin's dargah and Qutb sahib. They seem to be dirtier and more fly blown and more crowded with those expecting some largesse on your part but I can dig it and I cover my head. I was shocked to see videshi log in shorts and singlet , male and female, bare headed at Nizamuddin's shrine. That is just not on.
At least at Ajmer sharif they won't let you in if you are not covered up.

The nizamuddin complex has architecture from every period of Mulim Delhi and is worth exploring.
