Question Round THE delhi in 11 hours?

We are reaching Delhi Nizamudeen railway station @ 10.45 AM. Please suggest a place so we could freshen up and start a trip round few places in delhi. Can u suggest must visit places and the best mode of transport to that place? We need to take a bus around 10.00 PM from ISBT kashmiri gate by end of day.

Alternative options to IGI ??

Now that airport express has closed down what other options do we have (except cabs and auto) to reach T3 from NDLS.

The airport website says that there are buses , operated by DTC, from ISBT Kashmere Gate to the airport. Is this reliable on a Sunday afternoon? Feedbacks greatly appreciated

Cheers!

Need info on local travel.

On that note i would like to ask the following questions, requesting Delhi people to help me.

I have booked flight and would land in Delhi on 10th August @ 07:45 pm, considering that i might just have cabin luggage ( 40 L backpack) or check-in luggage i will be out @ 08:30 PM.

Checked trains, none available so considering overnight bus to Haridwar which i can book from Azad Hind Market / Kashmere gate from 10:30 / 11:00 bookable online make my trip ? good option ?

Can i take the Airport - New Delhi metro ? if so can i reach Azad Hind Market / Kashmere gate by 10:00 pm if i leave airport by 08:30 pm ~ 09:00 pm ?

Alternately would you suggest a Taxi ?

If you read this: http://www.delhiairportexpress.com/home/index.html and a few posts above you will see the Metro is not running at present.

Your choice is bus or taxi. I'm not an expert on timings but my guess would be most reliable and faster by taxi and possibly you would make it.

Wow. That's the problem with reading some of these threads that span several years. I was halfway through and so jazzed about hopping on the airport metro. Here's hoping they get those kinks and cracks worked out soon, eh?

These kind of snafus take place in (oh so efficient) Germany too. This report is already outdated. Now the airport is scheduled to open in October 2013. And this in the Prussian heartland.

But when it opens it will probably stay open. The Airlink in Delhi was years late and brokee down rather quickly. This is the norm for India.

Question Suggest some tourist-spots touched by Metro

Friends I'll be visiting Delhi in 4-5 days and I'll be having 4-5 hours in my hand to spend as per my whim... I want to do 'hop in and hop out of metro' trip... please suggest worthy places accordingly alongwith their corresponding metro stations... I'll be starting from AIIMS... please omit qutub minar as I have visited it very recently... and I already know of Lotus temple route... suggest the rest of the gems

i know there's already a thread but it's quite an old one, so made this thread again...

mod note: Chandni chowk lies where it did before the start of this thread and since its last update. I've merged your query.
