Red face New eats in New Delhi

I'm newly refreshed and pleasantly full after a visit to my new fave eatery in Paharganj.

That's right, the 24hr Wimpy at the New Delhi Railway station!!

YES!!! Never again shall you waste away with munchies at 3.35am, drooling at the thought of all those drivethru's you left at home. Just walk all the way through the train station, to the Ajmer Gate side, and you'll find it.

I had no idea such an oasis of gently cooked burgers, fries and mayo was to be found anywhere in the subcont, especially after my experiences at McD's. The gentle uncooked pink colour of the McChick sarnies is, how shall I put it, NOT RIGHT! However the Wimpy version, is identical to that slightly cardboard flavour we all know and love from hangover cures back home. and the chicken's white and drowned in succulent white mayo.

happy slobbing out!!

Yup right out the back gate. Does LP mention these important facts. I don't think so.

Just don't feed the monkeys any french fries. You will never get rid of them and I know this from experience.

Milkshakes are good to, not as good as Keventers in CP, but almost.

My meal's enjoyment was multiplied immensely by accepting a an offer from a rickshawwala to take me to the Paharganj side for 5 ruups. He intended to take me instead to his fave hotel, but I instead enjoyed the rolling burger eatery and spilled coke everywhere. 5 mins later I had arrived at the reservation office without having to fight my way back accross the station!! He wasn't impressed, but I must say, I do get a real kick out of pulling little scams back!

Indyboy , Mike,
there is another such place which I think LP would not have heard of as yet. This is called "Cumsome" they have three such locations one is a small time outlet in the outer circle CP which runs thru the day. But the best part is the twentyfour hour outlet at the Old Delhi Rly Station and at the Nizamudin Rly Stn. Both have a vast menu to offer with all sorts of food from deep fried paranthas to Pizzas to Ice Creams to Indian sweets. .............And thru 24/7................
Try it next time ur around......

You make it sound like a real eating experience Indyboy, but I think I'll stick with the Malhotra's chicken tandoori.

On the other hand, it might be a pleasant start to a 5am train journey.
