My Delhi Trip

With Monsoons coming to North India, weather has become really pleasant and I am planning a trip to Delhi this weekend. I want to visit some of the historical monuments - Red fort, Jama Masjid, Kutub Minar, Humayun's Tob, Nizamuddin Chisti's shrine, pay a visit to Mirza Ghalib's House in Ballimaaran, roam around in the Chandni Chawk's area and have some good Mughalai's food etc

Have I missed out on any place on my must see list ? Will also be happy to receive some contributions excluding the ones I have already mentioned. I am planning to start at 9:00 am so what should be my route to tour, so that it saves me time and I am not trying to make ends meet from my one visit to the next.

I think that's a pretty good list to be going on with. If you're going to be in Nizamuddin there is a branch of Karim's there. It's slightly upmarket compared to the Old Delhi Karim's near the Jama Masjid (more furnishings etc) but equally good. I can recommend the Murghi Shahjahani. It's better than I can cook myself!

I don't want to commit myself on a route. Delhi's traffic is too unpredictable and I don't know the city that well. If you don't have a car it might be best to do a deal for a taxi or auto rickshaw for the day.

Enjoy your weekend
