Leather Products in India

I don't carry leather bag or belts or wallets to India, but only because it's too heavy! I can lighten my load by using a cloth bag, outfits that do not require a belt, and keeping change in a small bag in my pocket. I do, however, wear leather sandals, which I buy in USA or easily available in India.

Don't know what kind of leather those chappals are made of - but they gotta be one of the most cumbersome inventions of all time. Or am I the only one who can't make those 'Indian flipflops' stay on the feet without applying at least one roll of duct tape?
