leather jacket

Hi all,

My husband wants to go buy a leather jacket tomorrow.
Now I've read/heard about names of places like Sarojini, Janpath, Yashwant at Chanakyapuri, Palika Bazaar at CP, Ajmal Khan Road....
But if time is limited, which is the best place to go to in terms of lots of variety and good affordable prices or bargains.

Appreciate your help!

Try khan market and CP..they are just a 10 min. metro ride away from each other. Places like Palika , sarojini, janpath etal will offer lots of bargains but poor quality. Chanakya puri , am not sure, but am sure it will be costly coz am going by the locality standards.

Yashwant at Chanakyapuri, is the center point of leather stuff.

If you look at all other market, they are general markets, but Yashwant place is only leather.

Yup. This is the centre of all leather apparel in Delhi. I dont suggest khan Market, since they'll be rip offs.

Thank you all for replying! So we took your advice yesterday and went indeed to Yaswant; my husband even bought 2 jackets and we were done in 15min! (the place was deserted by the way at 2.30pm...we were the only ones around ) Very fruitful trip

Great !! Its a Niche market, and they make their buck by bulk orders for export. It was particularly famous among Russians few years back, but now things have changed.

Ages back I remember seeing signages in Russian outside the shops in Yashwant Place...

Where have all the Russians gone...?
The reason is not just the recession surely...!

My wife says she used to take people to Damilano when she worked at the Taj. She sort of dismissed Yashwant as "where the Russians shop" (this from a Russian major...)

Though not showing on the website, she says the CP flagship store has jackets, though I'd bet that they're a little pricier.

Exactly, and (no offence) this was not what we were looking for; high style fashion stuff can be bought anywhere as long as you flash your card
We needed a nice jacket for a great price and it worked out just fine for my husband at Yaswant! (I didn't really look around much for myself so cannot comment on the ladies jackets though..)

Understood -- part of my wife's job was to shepherd high-end Taj clients on excursions like this, so she tended toward the shops they'd favor. I hadn't heard of Yaswant before, so will have to swing by next visit...
