The nearest metro station to Karim is Chowri bazar. From the station you can either walk or take a cycle rickshaw and reach Karim's.

This is true, except a first-timer may find it more interesting to come from Chandni Chowk (Delhi Main) and get the benefits of Kinari Bazaar, the Jama Masjiod, and so on.

Also, when I last checked the OP wanted the Karim's in Nizamuddin because he's catching a train there.

But whatever, the whole subject makes my mouth water.

Kullukid - is the raan of lamb that dish which costs several thousand rupees? I must admit I really want to try it, but I would definitely need some help. I wonder about an indiamike meetup next time I'm in Delhi to provide assistance.

Yes, Klompen, I've also heard mixed reports - and must admit last time I went to Karim's it wasn't the best I'd ever had. I just thought I was ordering the wrong stuff

Does anyone have any tips on where to get the very best non-veg kebabs/tandoori in Delhi? ~(not 5*)

Thanks - actually I was a member of Eatlo and FED Delhi, but just unsubscribed, as the other members never wanted to answer questions from "firangs". Otherwise, it seemed to be a great place to find out about food places.

I'll check out Iqbals though

And the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan if you haven't been already, great mutton fry, as good as the Baghdadi in Mumbai.

We have eaten only at the Jama Masjid Karim's. We've heard on these pages that the two taste different but have no way of knowing.

We do know that a Delhi friend, who is a relentless foodie, won't even bother discussing the Nizamuddin Karim's. I'm sure, though, that he's partly swayed by the atmosphere of the original, at Jama Masjid – plain, simple, just terrific food – as opposed to the Nizamuddin one – hoity-toity napery, for pity's sake (and probably prices to match).

You might glance at this:

The restaurant at Indian Islamic Centre on Lodhi Road is also very good. But karim's tandoori chicken(not chicken burra) is the best i have ever had....Nizam's Kathi kebab in connaught place is another good one...you can also try small stalls and restaurants around jama masjid for some real tasty stuff...oh yeah last but not the least Gulati's at pandara road though a touch expensive but really good...Bon Appetit
