Hey. U guys did order the wrong stuff. Try their kebab's- Shaami, Burrah, seekh... and their quormas. Try their nihari on the weekend's. overall, karim's got pretty decent food. But it is a bit overhyped...

Anyway, apart from the food names, the only other Hindi words are the numbers anyway ... "ek", "do", "teen" ... just consult the handy glossary at the back of your favorite guidebook! |

I was not at all touristy till some tourist discovered it. I guess this was just few years back. Still today on an average evening its mostly Indian there. Yes they are famous mow and almost everyone try to be there at least once but thankfully the road and way to karim is not easy.
They've opened few 'branches' in the city but the karim's at jama masjid is still the best (and oldest. yes not much for vegeterian like me but I enjoy watching other enjoying their food.

There is a much better restaraunt nearby Karim's it is called Authentic Spices, the prices are similar, the food is much better and the ambience is cool. It is located in the main market, Nizamuddin West. The phone numbers are: 24352226 & 24352227. We are going to post a more detailed review on our blog site soon. We frequently eat there and order from there.

Karim's is hevenly - you need to go there with someone who knows what to order.
i was lucky. And oh, by the way, one needs to know that good Biryani does not mean putting as much spice as one can nor does "kadaai"something is the pinnacle of Mughlai cuisine. Otherwise one should stick to "Prawn Roganjosh"and "Baalti Madras Chicken Curry". |

This kadai stuff is Punjabi addition & has nothing to do with mughlai cuisine. And Balti curry? I won't even speak about that !!!
